About Us - Gorgacce Rentals, Villas & Apartments in Tuscany & Umbria

David and Dilys Cordingley bought Gorgacce, a villa on the Tuscany Umbria border in 1986. We began renting the villa on an occasional basis and subsequently our Italian neighbours asked us to rent their properties for holidays.

Most of our holiday rental properties are in or near to, the beautiful Niccone Valley that straddles the Tuscany Umbria border. The Niccone Valley is dotted with ancient castles, Reschio, Sorbello, Lisciano Niccone, Pierle and Migianella. The Niccone Valley and the Tuscany Umbria border is a fantastic place to holiday in a self catering holiday villa or agritourism apartment. The area is in beautiful countryside, dotted with farmhouses, palazzi and classic hill top towns, as well as being near the major artistic centres of central Italy. Even Rome can be reached on a day trip by train.

We also have holiday apartments in the centre of Cortona, Tuscany and in the beautiful town of Spello, Umbria.

Cortona, an unspoilt medieval town with its origins in Etruscan history is close by as is Perugia, Umbria's beautiful capital city.

Florence, Siena, Arezzo, Cortona, Montepulciano (Tuscany), Perugia, Assisi, Gubbio, Spoleto, Todi and Orvieto (Umbria) as well as the towns of the Upper Tiber Valley and Lake Trasimeno can all be visited as day trips from our area.

We are a family business; David, Dilys and son James work from London from where James runs the website. Daughter Emma and son-in-law Martin Daykin are our representatives in Italy, living permanently at their villa on the Tuscany Umbria border, Ca' di Bracco. Martin and Emma also organise local wine tasting sessions for our clients. More recently, our Tuscan villa, Gorgacce, was bought by friends and we moved to our new villa, Casa del Lupo, just over the border in Umbria.
