Caselle is a large Tuscany villa with swimming pool on a working farm with agritourism status.
It is situated in an idyllic location in the hills behind the famous town of Cortona, Tuscany. The drive from Cortona (30 minutes) is one of the most spectacular roads in the region, through thick chestnut woods with views of Lake Trasimeno (the fourth largest lake in Italy) and the hills of Tuscany. Umbria and Le Marche stretching off into the distance. The peaceful rural landscape around Caselle is an ideal place to relax and escape from the hectic modern world. |

Caselle accommodation:
Originally four separate holiday apartments, the rental property has been reconfigured so that it can be rented as a villa with a large kitchen capable of seating 20 people, a TV room and outdoor dining area.
The entire house has 6 double bedrooms, some with ensuite bathrooms, 4 bedrooms with twin beds and 7 bathrooms in all. A cot is available.
This large Tuscany villa can be rented in three sizes. Only one rental at a time so that each rental is of a private villa with private swimming pool. In the high season, only the largest size (option C) is available for holiday rentals. Groups larger than 20 might like to consider renting a second property on the farm, Casa Fabbri which is 150m from Caselle. |

| Caselle is in a widely dispersed hamlet known as Teverina Bassa. It is on the route of the Roman road that linked Cortona to Citta di Castello in the Upper Tiber Valley and you can still see the Roman flagstones outside the front door! The very hospitable family who own Caselle are farmers, they have a few arable crops and some of the famous white Chiannina cattle, however the main business is forestry; carefully managing the forested hills for firewood. Beef from the Chiannina cattle is available for guests when in stock and Stefano assures us that he always has wild boar in the freezer should you wish to try it! |

| Agritourism for visitors to Tuscany is a recent addition to the family's activities and they have put a lot of energy into making it comfortable. The beautiful sheltered valley around Teverina Bassa has views of hills and woodland; it is always a quiet and relaxing place. Teverina Bassa is east of Cortona (30 minutes' drive) and is accessed down a well made gravel road that comes down from the spectacular Cortona road. Teverina has a small shop (meat can be ordered for the next day), a restaurant with a good reputation and other restaurants and shops can be accessed in both directions. |

| On one side of the villa is a large lawned garden with barbecue area boules court, table tennis and room for ball games. There is lots of shade from mature trees, making it a great place to relax on hot summer days. On the other side is a raised loggia / outdoor dining area with superb views across the beautiful Tuscan and Umbrian countryside. The swimming pool is about twenty metres from the villa up a grassy lane on the other side of the still extant Roman road. |

We had been renting the Farmhouse accommodation at Caselle as separate agritourism apartments but we are now only renting it as one large Tuscan villa. Renters can be assured of privacy - the garden and swimming pool are for the exclusive use of Caselle guests. This year we have not modified the rooms but have changed the furnishing as befits a larger rental villa.
It can be rented in three modes, however only one rental group will be accommodated at a time so privacy and exclusivity is guaranteed. |
