Casa Castiglione is a stone and brick built house completely restored in the last five years. It is just outside our main area, on the western side of Lake Trasimeno making it very well placed for touring both Tuscany and Umbria.
It is a few minutes drive to Castiglione del Lago, always very popular with English visitors and where there are a variety of restaurants, a lively open air market on Wednesdays, a large supermarket as well as the usual attractions of a walled town built mainly in the middle ages.
From Castiglione there are ferry service to Isola Maggiore on the lake which has no cars and is a lovely place for lunch.
The house is completely private and detached, surrounded by arable farmland given over mainly to sunflowers and corn. There is a lawned garden with a 12x6m swimming pool.
The access to the house serves only one other villa further down the road so there is complete privacy. There is ample parking space for three or four cars.
The ground floor has two distinct areas in an open plan design. On the entry side of the house is a large sitting room which is two steps above a kitchen and dining area that runs the full length of the house. Doors open out on to a covered terrace for al fresco dining : barbecue, dining table etc. Also on the ground floor is a double bedroom with marble en suite bathroom with shower and separately, a cloakroom with WC, basin and washing machine.
On the upper floor : 2 twin bedrooms, one with its own balcony and a further 2 marble bathrooms, plus a large and beautifully appointed master bedroom with a traventino en suite bathroom with bath & shower.
The property is gated for security. The outside terrace,
garden and pool are floodlit at night.
The are various games & pool toys for children plus
on the upper lawn there is a volleyball / tennis / area.
The pool is open May to September.
