Lake Trasimeno is about eight miles square
and has ferries to two of its three islands. In the Summer there is
a managed beach with swimming, pedaloes, wind surfers, cafes
and restaurant. There are other beaches at Castiglione del Lago.
All the places we rent except for those in Spello (just east of here) are within the area covered by the map.
The famous places within easy reach are Florence, Siena, Perugia, Assisi, Gubbio, Orvieto, Montepulciano, San Gimignano. Cortona is one of the finest medieval cities in Tuscany. The near locality has a lot to offer: many small hill towns - all unspoiled in their ancient splendour.
Mercatale/Lisciano Niccone offer tennis and riding; swimming pools near Cortona; the area has great walks for all levels of enthusiasm. All the places we rent except for those in Spello (just east of here) are within the area covered by the map.
