Casa Peschino

A four bedroom house that sleeps 8. Peschino (Little Peach Tree) sits on
the lower slopes of a quiet, wooded farming valley that is part Tuscany,
part Umbria. It is approached by a kilometre of farm track through
fields of sunflowers, tobacco, trees and wild flowers. Just 3 kilometres
away is the border with Umbria where the old custom house still
stands. The house is completely private and not over-looked.

The house is entered from the drive into the ground floor where at the
front of the house is the kitchen, immediately to the left. The wellequipped
and roomy kitchen has a 5 ring gas hob, electric oven, fridge
freezer, dishwasher, microwave and bread-maker, plenty of cupboard
space and work tops.

A doorway leads to a dining room extending over the width of the
house and with French windows at the front and back. The large
dining table can accommodate 12 people. A doorway at the far side of
the dining room leads to the utility area with washer-dryer and a WC.
At the back of the kitchen is a comfortable sitting room with sofas and
armchairs, TV and French windows to the back garden.

Stairs at the back of the dining room enter into a second sitting room
with sofas and easy chairs and a large wood-burner in the fireplace. At
the front end of the room is a door leading onto a small loggia with
external steps down to the garden and pool area.

A double bedroom comes directly off the upper sitting room; it has an
en suite shower room. A hallway on the opposite side of the sitting
room has 2 twin bedded rooms sharing a second shower room. A
second passageway leads to a bathroom with bath tub and shower and
a second double bedroom. All the bedrooms have beautiful views over
the fields and wooded hillsides.

Outside is a stone pizza oven, BBQ and outside dining furniture. The
pool is 10x5m and has a thermal cover which extends the swimming
season; there are sun-loungers. It has a paved surround and sits on a
grassy terrace. The garden is planted with shrubs and flowers and has
lovely views along the valley.

The Umbrian town of Trestina is 15 minutes drive by car and has shops,
supermarkets and restaurants. The medieval walled Tuscan town of
Cortona is a 30 minute drive. There are villages and restaurants within
10 minutes drive.

There are many day trips possible from Peschino to the surrounding
historic and cultural centers of Umbria and Tuscany.As well as Cortona
within an hour you can visit Perugia, Deruta, Assisi, Arezzo,
Sansepolcro, Siena, Gubbio, Orvieto, Montepulciano and other hill
towns. Florence is ninety minutes by car or the fastest train.
