Le Sette Vene is a traditional farmhouse, typical of the Tuscany / Umbria border area and recently restored. It is an ideal place either for a large group, having 7 double bedrooms in all, or it can be rented as 3 separate places. The former first floor living space is divided into two sections, to give two good sized houses on the top floor and a ground floor apartment. It can be opened up to give a seven, five or four bedroom villa as required, all of a good agritourism standard and providing a superb but cheap Tuscany Villa. There is a fine 12x6m swimming pool.
The location is perfect. It's not far from the road that goes between Tuoro (on the edge of Lake Trasimeno) and Mercatale di Cortona (about two kilometres from Mercatale). It's hidden from the road and private with magnificent views looking down on the Pierle and Niccone valleys (two castles in view) and backed by hills and distant mountains to the East. It is set in meadows, olive groves and woods. The external terraces of the two upper houses are on opposite sides of the long building giving total privacy and the ground floor apartment has a small private area and garden at the back of the house.
Casa Barbara: Tiled and stone stairs lead to a large walled loggia with terracotta floor where there is garden style furniture and umbrella. The front door leads to what was the main room of the old farmhouse with original fireplace (wood provided in season). There is a kitchen area and a large dining table etc. It also has a TV. There are two double bedrooms and one twin bedded room. The bathroom has a bath with shower facility. Water and central heating are by gas. There is ample wardrobe space and drawers.
Casa Piero: has a massive walled loggia with outdoor furnishings. Through the front door is a kitchen/dining room, with fireplace. It has a double bedroom and a twin bedded room. The bathroom has a bath and a shower cubicle. Water heating is electric and central heating by gas.
Casa Manuel: is on the ground floor below Casa Piero. It has a good size kitchen/diner, bathroom and two bedrooms one of which has French windows to a small, private garden (view of the castle of Pierle). It is suitable for wheelchair users.
Le Sette Vene villa: internal doors can be opened to give a large seven bedroom villa. An extra bed can be accommodated in the bedroom with single beds on the ground floor (Casa Manuel) to space for a maximum of 15 guests. Its not quite the same as a special, single villa because there are still three kitchens. However, because of this we are offering it at a great price.
Casa Barbara and Casa Piero can be made as one, occupying the whole of the upper floor with two great loggias (verandas) on either side with wonderful views. It provides a spacious five bedroom/two bathroom villa.
Casa Piero and Casa Manuel can also form one villa with four bedrooms and two bathrooms. It includes the large loggia of Casa Piero with plenty of space for relaxing and dining.
Le Sette Vene Tuscany Agritourism Apartments are within reach of all the famous Umbrian
towns: Assisi, Perugia, Castiglione del Lago (Lake Trasimeno),
Orvieto and Todi. In Tuscany Cortona
is near and easy drives to Siena and Arezzo.
Florence is about ninety minutes by car or
train and even Rome can be a day trip. However,
the near locality has a lot to offer. As well as the stunning scenery
dotted with medieval towns and castles, there is horse riding, tennis,
cycling and on the lake ferry trips to islands, swimming and sailing.
Le Sette Vene is an Italian rental villa with pool converted into three separate places. It is
an ideal location for self catering holidays on the Tuscany/Umbria border. The three
places can be connected to give a big Tuscany villa. It is simply furnished in the local
"agriturismo" style with kitchen, ding rooms and bedrooms and a bathroom in each. Each
place has its own private space; Casa Barbara and Casa Piero have a loggia each (or
terrace), the one for Casa Piero being particularly large and private with superb views of
parts of Tuscany and Umbria. Casa Manuel has a private garden space off the main double
bedroom with a great view of a ruined castle. The outstanding features of the house are
the magnificent views along the Niccone valley with Tuscany on one side and Umbria on
the other, the extensive private land which includes a big olive grove and meadow land
and the peaceful pool area, beautifully maintained. It is just a mile from the twin towns of
Lisciano Niccone (Umbria) and Mercatale di Cortona (Tuscany). The local villages are now
well used to the influx of English speaking renters of luxury villas and self catering houses
that are scattered through the hills. They provide all the facilities needed for a self catering
vacation.
Its very well placed for an Italian vacation with both Umbria and Tuscany being easily
accessed. There is no long drive on gravel roads to get on to the highway so common to
many Tuscany villas. One direction leads to the heartland of Tuscany and the other to the
many ancient towns of Umbria. Within half an hour of this self catering rented villa is the
famous Tuscany hill town of Cortona and the capital of Umbria, Perugia. Siena, Asssi,
Spello, Montepulciano and many other famous hill towns are closeby. Florence and Rome
can be day trips, by car, or better by train from the station at Terontola Cortona where
