A
delightful comfortable house in the hamlet of Pierle just outside Mercatale
di Cortona (2km) with a prime view of the ruined castle of Pierle (floodlit
at night) - "molto suggestivo" as the Italians have it.
There are only two houses on the large site, the
other is the home of the owners' son. It has two bedrooms, one double,
one with two single beds, two bathrooms and an elegant ground floor
with an arch to the sitting room. The kitchen is well equipped : oven,
hobs, fridge etc.
A grassed courtyard area has a small laundry.
There are acres of private land mainly olive grove.
Pierle
is just off the road that goes over to Cortona from Mercatale - about
fifteen to twenty minutes to the magnificent Cortona on a scenic route
with sparse traffic.
A perfect place to relax, tour or make a long stay.
There are many day trips possible from Casa Trabalza to the surrounding historic and cultural centers of Umbria and Tuscany. Cortona is a fifteen minute drive, and within an hour you can visit Perugia, Deruta, Assisi, Arezzo, Sansepolcro, Siena, Gubbio, Orvieto, Montepulciano and other hill towns. Florence is just over an hour by car or the fastest train.
