Villa Vitellino is an Umbria Villa though of the classic Tuscany villa style of the 19th
century. It is a big square villa with ample space and a good kitchen for self catering. The
house is lavishly furnished, better than most that are rented for self catering, Italian
holidays. The views are good in all directions from a view over Lake Trasimeno to the hills
of Umbria and the eastern Appenines, the famous hill town of Cortona to the western hills
of Tuscany looking towards Montepulciano and Siena. It is ideally located for an Italian
vacation with both Umbria and Tuscany being easily accessed by car and by train. From
the local station Florence and Rome as well as Orvieto and Arezzo are easy day trips.
Siena is just over half an hour by car.

This well ordered villa has a mature garden with a pool at one side and a beautiful pergola
set back in the trees. There are lots of shaded places to sit and admire the views over the
Tuscany and Umbria countrside. Internally, it has all that an Italian villa holiday requires
with a small kitchen on the upper floor as well as the main kitchen next to the open plan
dining room on the ground floor. There is a separate study and other places for sitting and
relaxing.

It is close to Castiglione del Lago, long a place catering to the English "gentry", with
splendid cafes in its piazzas, restaurants, shops etc. There are also ferries to the Isola
Maggiore on Lake Trasimeno which is a haven of peace and tranquillity as well as good
restaurants. From the island other ferries go to other parts of the lake including the Umbria
resort town of Passignano.
The Tuscany hill town of Montepulciano is to the west, famous for its vino nobile and with
many wine tasting opportunities.
